Students from Grades 9 to 12 had a whole day of learning, adventure and fun in their Educational Trip last 27th of April at Batis Aramin at the tourist town of Lucban in Quezon Province.

25 April 2012 MITIS Students Gather Together for Promenade 2012 
It was a night to remember. It was a night to cherish. It was the night when music, tradition, and fun all came together to amplify the talents, the friendship and the spirit of MIT International School. Amplified: MITIS Prom 2012, sponsored by the Student Activity Department, together with the Student Coordinating Board (SCB), last April 19, 2012 in Acacia Hotel was indeed a night to celebrate many things. It was the time for making memories with old and new friends. Students and teachers from Grades 9 to 12, together with the administration enjoyed a night of music and friendship. It was the 3rd Promenade for the school and the theme was "Concert" as evidenced by the performance of selected students.

16 April 2012 Dr. David Brown Visits MITIS 
Dr. David Brown, Executive Director of the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC) visited MIT International School last March 23 in connection with the school’s process for full accreditation status. Dr. Brown has held the premier WASC position for more than 10 years. Prior to his appointment, he served as school principal and then as superintendent of schools in California, USA for many years.

2 April 2012 Isagani Cruz Talks About 21st Century Teaching and Learning Skills 
Dr. Isagani R. Cruz, a renowned man in education and literature, delivered a seminar entitled “Enhancing 21st Century Teaching and Learning Skills” last March 19, 2012 at the MIT International School Main Lobby. The seminar was attended by the MITIS faculty, the Student Coordinating Board (SCB), Grade 9 class and some selected students from the upper grades.

15 March 2012 The Power of Clear Speech
(Or How To Avoid Mistaking “I Love You” For “W”) 
Ashley Ingram, owner and founder of the AISM Language Institute, conducted a seminar on English speech training for Asians last Friday, March 9. Having had speech problems as a child, he was inspired to develop a program that would help others have clearer speech, and in turn, better communication skills.

7 March 2012 Leo Yi Bags Three 1st Prizes in Ski Competition 
Leo Yi, a Gr. 8 student of MIT International School, bagged three major prizes in a Ski Competition in Korea last February 2012. He won the gold medal in the following competitions: Governor of Gyeongnam Province Ski Competition, Gyeongnam Federation of Ski Competition, and Gyeongnam Ski Association Ski Competition.

28 February 2012 MITIS Students Excel in the Metrobank MTAP Challenge 
Knowledge plus hard work and practice are recipes for success. Ask the MTAP Teams of MIT International School and they will surely agree with such a statement. Months of rigorous training of students with the help of their hardworking and dedicated teachers did not fall in vain. Students from grades 4 - 10 have all endeavored to enhance their knowledge and skills in Mathematics in order to compete at the highest level. The Metrobank MTAP Challenge is an annual Math Competition where students from all schools, both public and private, compete against each other. This year, the school's representatives were all successful in their own right.

17 February 2012 Parents' Association Keen on Developing Students' Self-Discipline 
Keeping true to the school motto of "Fostering Creative Minds and Living Well With Others," the Parents' Association of MIT International School recently hosted a seminar on Discipline entitled "Keeping an Open Mind on Discipline to Maintain Harmony in the Home and School." The seminar, which was held in the school lobby last February 3, 2011 aimed to instill the value of self-discipline among high school students.

25 January 2012 MITIS Alumnus Visits Kyoto University

One of the first graduates of MIT International School (MITIS), Kyle Park, visited Kyoto University in Japan last December 2011. Having been admitted as a freshman with full scholarship and a monthly allowance, Kyle will be studying in Kyoto University beginning September 2012. Kyoto University is ranked as one of the Top 5 universities in Asia.

25 January 2012 2nd Seminar on Discipline Set
A forum on discipline for Grades 9-12 students is set to be conducted on February 3, 2012 with Ms. Pilar U. Tolentino, a successful banker turned family counselor as resource speaker. Ms. Tolentino is presently the Executive Director of the Center for Family Ministries (CEFAM), Inc. She served for a time as a BPI branch manager and a faculty member in the School of Management of the Ateneo de Manila University.

25 January 2012 MITIS Students Join YMCA National Assembly
Seven student leaders of MIT International School joined the 23rd Young Men’s Christian Association (YMCA) National Assembly of High School Students held at Teacher’s Camp, Baguio City last November 29 to December 2, 2011, They were Monica Felizardo, Bona Mae Simba, Jeanie Hyung, Jay Angelo Jumagdao, Jose Martin Revita, Rico Ireneo and Rimmer Dong. With them was the Student Activity Coordinator, Ms. Lei Pangilinan. The annual YMCA project which aims to enhance the youth’s sense of responsibility and awareness is in adherence to the theme, “YMCA: Developing the Youth as Responsible Global Citizens”.

Through fancy traditional costumes, creative country-themed classrooms, luscious delicacies, and ingenious mascots, the MIT International School (MITIS) faculty and students symbolically brought nations together and made the 2011 United Nations (UN) Month simply unforgettable.

Thru An Impromptu Speaking Contest

It is more than English language skills that distinguishes the best speaker from the rest. This is what transpired during the Impromptu Speaking Contest conducted by the MIT International School (MITIS) through its English Department on October 12, 2011. Packaged in support of the United Nations Millennium Development Goals (UNMDG) for 2015, the contest underscored the school’s vigorous efforts to develop and produce critical, reflective, and competent communicators and promote active global citizenship.

MITIS Parents Association Oath-taking Ceremony

The newly-elected officers of the MIT International School (MITIS) Parents Association took their oath of office before Muntinlupa City Mayor Aldrin San Pedro on September 26, 2011 at the Muntinlupa City Hall. The new officers were headed by the association’s president, businesswoman Mariselle Revita who was for many years was the Executive Secretary of the Muntinlupa Chamber of Commerce and Industry. She succeeded John Prior, a corporate executive, whose daughter, Maria, graduated from Grade 12 in May 2011.

12 January 2011 Top Educators Address MITIS-DEPED Forum

Top Filipino educators Dr. Teresita Domalanta, Dr. Fe Faz, and Dr. Dominico Idanan addressed a joint MITIS-DEPED forum entitled Exploring the Opportunities for University Education in Japan held on January 12, 2011 at MIT International School. Among the other speakers were Dr. Kakuya Matsushima from Kyoto University and Ms. Atsuko Sakamaki, the Country Officer of the Japan International Cooperation Center.
