MITIS Alumni Visits Kyoto University

Kyle with Vice President of Kyoto University

One of the first graduates of MIT International School (MITIS), Kyle Park, visited Kyoto University, Japan last December 2011.

Admitted as a freshman with full scholarship and monthly allowance, Kyle will be studying in Kyoto University beginning September 2012. Kyoto University is ranked as one of the Top 5 universities in Asia.

Kyle has been studying in MITIS since 2007, the year MITIS was born, and was also admitted to top foreign universities including UCLA, USA; Toronto University, and University of British Columbia, Canada.

Kyle had a tour in the Katsura campus of Kyoto University where he will pursue an undergraduate degree in Global Engineering. During the visit, Kyle had the chance to meet the professors he will study with, the vice president of Kyoto University, and a Kyoto University alumnus who has been working in the Asian Development Bank in the Philippines to get advice.

Hopefully, Kyle will continue to build his knowledge and leadership skills, which he has built over the years as a 3-term president of Student Coordinating Board of MITIS. Furthermore, may he put to use the numerous academic excellence awards including AP Scholar Award, College Board, USA that he has garnered over the years in MIT International School.

Kyle with Dr. Kim (Associate Professor of Kyoto University), Mr. Herradura (Asian Development Bank), and Mr. Kondo (Asian Development Bank).
