Keeping true to the school motto of "Fostering Creative Minds and Living Well With Others," the Parents' Association of MIT International School recently hosted a seminar on Discipline entitled "Keeping an Open Mind on Discipline to Maintain Harmony in the Home and School." The seminar, which was held in the school lobby last February 3, 2011 aimed to instill the value of self-discipline among high school students.
Ms. Pilar Tolentino, the Executive Director of the Center for Family Ministries (CEFAM) served as the guest speaker and gave the students from Grades 9-12 some tips on how to develop self-discipline and consequently their self-worth.
"I think it's important for young kids to celebrate victories even if they come in small steps," Ms. Mariselle Revita, the president of the Parents' Association, told the students. In today's fast-paced and competitive society, many young kids are often confused and lost in terms of self-direction especially with growing pressure from school, family and peers. As such, the parents chose the perfect topic for their kids to focus on as the new quarter for the school year begins.
Through self-discipline, students will regain their sense of identity and as such enable them to build healthy relationships as they live well with others.

The school is thankful for the parents' continuous support and initiative in helping promote the ESLRS of the school.
