2nd Seminar on Discipline Set

A forum on discipline for Grades 9-12 students is set to be conducted on February 3, 2012 with Ms. Pilar U. Tolentino, a successful banker turned family counselor as resource speaker.

Ms. Tolentino is presently the Executive Director of the Center for Family Ministries (CEFAM), Inc. She served for a time as a BPI branch manager and a faculty member in the School of Management of the Ateneo de Manila University.

Ms. Tolentino excelled as a student. She is a graduate of the Management-Honors Program, cum laude, at the Ateneo de Manila University where she was departmental awardee and academic scholar. She also graduated with distinction from the Asian Institute of Management (AIM) with a Masters in Management degree.

The first seminar was held on December 9, 2011 with parents and guardians in attendance and with Ms. Victoria de Leon Cantada, also from CEFAM, as speaker. It was an afternoon of healthy interaction with the participants sharing insights and experiences and the resource speaker stressing helpful best practices on managing discipline and promoting harmony in home relationships.

The seminars are sponsored by the MITIS Parents Association headed by Ms. Mariselle Revita, its current President. Ms. Revita and the other officers were thankful in noting that the Center for Family Ministries (CEFAM) aims to empower the family to become a community of love, justice, and peace. They expressed confidence that the high school students will be appreciative of the seminar and become more ”academic achievers and lifelong learners, self-respecting and morally confident individuals, caring and responsible family members, and active and collaborative global citizens”.
